Overview

Reports to:       Chief Operations Officer or Designee

Purpose:          Assure maintenance of all minimum standards of Mobile Crisis Management

Responsibilities

Assist and supervise Mobile Crisis Management employees as follows:

 

  1. Providing crisis response for recipient 24/7/365.
  2. Providing immediate telephonic response to assess crisis and determine the risk, mental status, medical stability and appropriate response; provide face-to-face response as needed.
  3. Developing a Crisis Plan before discharge for recipients new to the public service system and/or make revisions to existing crisis plan components in Person Centered Plans, as appropriate.
  4. Monitoring and manage the presenting psychiatric and/or addiction symptoms.
  5. Monitoring or coordination of movement across levels of care, directly to the person and the family; coordinate discharge planning and community re-entry following hospitalization, residential services and other levels and to assure continuing care.
  6. Maintain appropriate authorizations for all Mobile Crisis Management services.
  7. Help maintain the self-respect, personal dignity and physical safety of each recipient.
  8. Work cooperatively with all other staff and relate favorably to recipients and families.
  9. Report any changes in consumer’s condition, family situation, or needs to the appropriate personnel.
  10. Assure consumer’s rights are met and maintain consumer confidentiality at all times.
  11. He or she will need to be credentialed through CAQH.
  12. Ensure that staffing levels are maintained and that there is coverage 24/7/365.
  13. Work with Team Leaders and other supervisory staff to maintain quality services.

In regards to Clinical Team

  1. Provide clinical oversight to clinical consultation team
  2. Complete clinical team scheduling
  3. Monitor clinical team for ongoing effectiveness and efficiency

TACT

  1. Provide oversight and monitoring of TACT Team
  2. Attend appropriate meetings and collaborations with Randolph Hospital
  3. Provide supervision as needed to team
  4. Monitor adequate coverage

Policies

  1. Report any accident or incident to the Chief Operations Officer, monitor incident reports
  2. Be familiar with TA, Inc. policies and procedures including the securing of emergency services and the regulations concerning medication administration.
  3. Be familiar with HIPAA regulations and abide by them.
  4. Work with hospitals, community agencies, and other providers to provide appropriate services.
  5. Obtain and keep current all training required by the agency. Understand that failure to renew classes by their due date will result in being removed from the schedule.
  6. Construction and revision of Mobile Crisis Management protocols, monitor policy and procedure
  7. Participation in CQI/CQL and QM initiatives, including participation in designated committees

 

Administration

  1. Work with MCOs to ensure that all services are being provided in accordance with MCO and state standards.
  2. In a timely manner and as required, forward documentation to designated staff in the administrative offices.
  3. In conjunction with Administrative Director monitor administrative staff as well as others that queue charts to ensure consistency with queuing as well as ensuring all applicable policy and procedures are followed.
  4. Respond appropriately to requests from MCOS including but not limited to daily, weekly, or monthly reports, RFPs, or other communications
  5. Maintain relationships with local university social work programs; supervise yearly interns as applicable

 

Daily Operations

  1. Provide oversight and supervision of Mobile Crisis Management employees.
  2. Receive supervision by the Chief Operations Officer or Designee.
  3. Attend/facilitate all mandatory staff meetings and consumer conferences or give advance notice to the Chief Operations Officer as to reasons for inability to attend.
  4. Ensure that marketing of Mobile Crisis Management is completed including but not limited to community collaboratives, CIT training, etc.
  5. Operate office equipment as necessary, i.e. calculator, copier, computer, fax, etc
  6. Perform other duties as required by circumstances.

 

Qualifications

  1. Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must have Current Provisional License or Fully Licensed.
  1. Verification of the following competencies:
  2. Graduate of a college or university with a master’s degree in a human service field and with two years of full-time, post-master’s degree accumulated MH/DD/SA experience with the population served, and full or provisional LCSW licensure in the state of North Carolina
  3. The following must be true in regards to DMV record:
    1. No one with a past DWI on their record will ever be able to drive a company vehicle or transport a resident in a personal vehicle
    2. No one under the age of 25 can drive a company vehicle
    3. To transport residents in a personal vehicle you must have had a valid driver’s license for three years and a clean driving record.  If you get your first license at the age of 16 you must be 20 and have nothing on your driving record.  If you are 17 when you get your license then you must be 21 and have a clean driving record.
  4. Must have a minimum of one (1) year’s experience in providing crisis management services in the following settings: assertive outreach, assertive community treatment, emergency department or other service providing 24/7 response in emergent or urgent situations.
  5. Must have twenty (20) hours of training in appropriate crisis intervention strategies within the first 90 days of employment.
  6. QP status and prior supervisory experience in the mental health field
  7. No substantiated findings on the NC Personnel Registry/Health Care Program and must not be listed on the HHS/OIG List of Excluded Individual/Entities.
  8. SBI and DMV records must meet the requirements of area mental health contracts.
  9. Must be able to Lift, Push, or Pull minimum of 25 pounds.
